Sometimes I'm painting sheer, unbridled happiness (which may be embodied in a grinning poodle!). At other times, I find that moment in time when everything was a discovery (a dog looking in a mirror for the very first time and seeing a wonderful reflection!).

So when people ask me what I paint, I always have to pause. The easy answer may be "dogs & cats" but that's just a very small part. I don't really care what "breed" a dog is - that's not really what I'm after. I care more about the animal's personality.
